Stella Feehily in rehearsal

2-3 June 2017, London | Application deadline 20 March
Fri 2 June 6pm-8.30pm; Sat 3 June 11am-6pm

Join director Max Stafford-Clark, playwright Stella Feehily and Out of Joint’s Literary Manager Catriona Craig on this course designed to inspire and support emerging writers. You’ll take part in practical exercises, explore playwriting methods and consider genres and styles of play. Participants will also be asked to prepare a short scene overnight to present to the group. This is a great opportunity to learn skills and share ideas in an open, creative environment.

Max Stafford-Clark has directed the premiere productions of plays by many leading writers including Caryl Churchill, David Hare and Mark Ravenhill. He is Director of Out of Joint,  former Artistic Director of the Royal Court, and has directed at the RSC and National Theatre.

Stella Feehily’s plays, including O Go My Man, Bang Bang Bang and This May Hurt A Bit, have been produced by Out of Joint at the Royal Court, Soho Theatre and St James Theatre. She has taught playwriting at the Royal Court.

Catriona Craig is Literary Manager at Out of Joint, Reader at the National Theatre, Senior Reader for the Verity Bargate Award and Senior Lecturer at Bucks New University.

This course takes place at Out of Joint’s rehearsal base on the evening of Friday 2 June (6pm-8.30pm), and from 11am to 6pm the following day, Saturday 3 June.
