A DISH OF TEA WITH DR JOHNSON

 ”Totally charming” Whatsonstage

We played sell-out houses at our opening performances last week. Nice to hear modern audiences laughing at his timeless wit – we’ve become fond of Samuel Johnson.

Trudie Styler joins the cast for some performances, including South Shields Fri and Sat, Ipswich Monday, Maidenhead Sat 12 March and Salisbury 15-17 March.

And there’s a charity performance in London on 10 April – more info soon but if you missed out on tickets for London dates, it’s good chance to catch it.

THE BIG FELLAH – COSTELLO’S BACK

David Rintoul, who played Charles Dickens in our show Andersen’s English last year, and has just finished filming for The Iron Lady, joins the cast as hard man Frank McArdle. Yasmine Akram, Luke Griffin and Lisa Kerr (Andersen’s English, Mixed Up North) join original cast members, including Finbar Lynch reprising his much-praised performance in the title role. https://www.outofjoint.co.uk/prods/bigfellah.html

JOIN IN – WORKSHOP WITH MAX

There are some places available for a day out with a difference. Drama workshop with Max Stafford-Clark, lunch, performance of A Dish of Tea with Dr Johnson, post-show Q&A.

Friday 18 March, Eastwell Manor, Ashford. http://www.eastwellmanor.co.uk/article.aspx?id=49

 TOP GIRLS

Max Stafford-Clark directed the premiere of Caryl Churchill’s dazzling, muscular study of success in 1982. Now we’re co-producing a new production with Chichester Festival Theatre.

 HOWARD GOODALL’S  “THE KISSING DANCE”

Based on Goldsmith’s comedy She Stoops To Conquer, this musical, produced by Out of Joint’s Chantelle Staynings and currently keeping our feet tapping, is at Jermyn Street Theatre.  From 22 March.
